Messages app quit downloading

Normally we do not have to download the text messages, they get downloaded on their own. And when you will click the download option that comes along with the message it will not download but say downloading. It will end up there saying the same for ages. Few of my friends have encountered the issue in Galaxy Note 9. Had trouble downloading/receiving pictures using Samsung default text message app. After trying everything including a factory reset which didn't fix the problem.- I found the answer: turn off advance messaging under the settings within the text messaging app. For help, contact your app's provider. If you use Android and use any app other than Messages by Google to send and receive messages, download the most recent version of Messages. For the best results, make Messages your default messaging app. For MMS, the file size can't exceed 8 MB. For international messages, the limit is 1 MB.


Go into your home screen and then tap on the Settings menu. Scroll down and then tap on the Apps selection. Then scroll down to the Message app in the menu and tap on it. Then tap on the Storage. A warning screen will pop up indicating that messages have not been fully downloaded to this iPhone, and asking whether you want to cancel, or 'Disable and Download Messages'. Select 'Disable and Download Messages.' This should cause the app to download the whole message history to local storage on the phone and break the iCloud sync connection. Click on it and clear the cache of your android phone. Now open the messaging app which was earlier showing error and now you will see the messages downloading. Please note that the messages which were displaying the error “expired” may not be recover because these messages got expired due to the network issue.
